The Sensory Garden

Our sensory garden is designed to allow people with an impairment to have their own, unique experience with nature. We use the sense of smell by planting Lavender, Rosemary or Gardenias. For touch, we plant Lamb’s Ears, Breath of Heaven and trees with interesting bark like Birch or perhaps a Magnolia for it’s leaves and flowers. We use wind chimes and water to create sound and pathways to mark a safe route through the garden. Birdbaths can be used to attract wildlife.
