Creating Indoor Sacred Spaces

The figure of the Buddha, seated on a stone pedestal some two feet tall, has become the spiritual center of a sacred space garden. It is surrounded with spiritual objects, such as an incense burner and a pink crystal formation with votive candles which, when lit at night, illuminate both the Buddha’s features and the shadows and shapes of the surrounding plants and flowers. There are both day-blooming plants and night-blooming ones. Even when you are away, simply knowing that the garden blooms both day and night elevates your heart and soul to another place.
A saying by Heinrich Heine, “nature is visible thought.” from Peg Streep’s book titled, Spiritual Gardening
